National Mom's Nite Out

Last night, I spent a few hours with a great group of moms at the National Mom's Nite Out celebration at Buster's Beach House in Seaport Village.

While there were so many prizes given away throughout the event from so many sponsors, there were also some great, local companies who put some promotional materials and coupons in the Goodie Bags that were handed out to each guest.

Mel and Debbie were fabulous hosts and the night was a great success and so much fun!

Here's a brief list of companies who participated:
Proceeds from the sale of the raffle tickets are going to the March of Dimes in honor of Maddie Spohr.

Happy Mother's Day - this day and every day!

ABC Kids Expo

I'm preparing myself for the annual ABC Kids Expo happening September 7 - 11 in Las Vegas. While I've been to Las Vegas several times before, I have not yet been to ABC Kids Expo, the premiere event for merchandise created for babies and toddlers.

I've made notes on the companies and products that I want to learn more about when I get there:

Vagina Festival: Only in NYC

Vagina Festival is a visual and performance art experience, organized by artist-activist, Alexandra Jacoby. It is an outgrowth of her project, vagina vérité®—an unabashed exploration of the plain, ordinary, mysterious matter of vaginas.

VAGINA FESTIVAL is an opportunity to have conversations we don’t typically get to have - in ways we don’t typically get to have them. Through visual art, performance, speaker presentations and interactive activities, Vagina Festival forms a welcoming space for exploring sexuality, body image, personal identity, health and well-being.

At Vagina Festival, we exchange ideas, challenge cultural norms and celebrate women. Their aim is to engage people by creating a fun, moving, thought-provoking experience.

Vagina Festival is made possible by generous sponsors and volunteers who are passionate about creating conversation. If you’d like to be a part of organizing and promoting Vagina Festival, go now to sign up.

You're Invited!

These days, cell phones, MP3 players and even sneakers are stylish, personalized and technologically progressive. So why are online invitations so stubbornly stuck in the past? This simple realization was the genesis behind pingg. pingg begins where others leave off seamlessly fusing style, design and customization with robust delivery and management features.

  • Create an actual invitation, as opposed to a mere link to a webpage, by choosing from a variety of unique images that reflect your own personal taste, including our Designer Series. Or you can upload your own images for a more personal touch.

  • Choose to send invitations via ONE or ALL of pingg’s methods- email, print (pingg will print, stamp and mail the invitations to your selected guests), sms/text, or easily share it with your social network. By integrating online and print invitations, pingg makes it easy to reach your guests in a variety of ways, while managing all guest replies online.

  • Customize your event webpage by uploading photos or videos, writing longer personalized messages and attaching additional information about the event. pingg also has advanced features for gift & charity registries, money collection and ticketing.

  • Manage all RSVPs, lists, guest messaging, follow-ups, reminders, last minute changes and Thank You notes efficiently and easily from one place.

Hullabaloo

Last March, the San Diego locals behind the Hullabaloo band put together a show at the North Coast Repertory Theater in Solana Beach. They had such a great time we decided to do it again on August 9th at 10:30 a.m.

Special guest, Joann Woolley, will start the show with a quick sign language class for kids and parents. Then, she'll join Hullabaloo on stage throughout the show to sign along with the music. A portion of the ticket price will benefit the American Society for Deaf Children.

Tickets to the show are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. To keep things safe for everyone please purchase a ticket for your child if they are of walking age.

Last time there were plenty of tickets available at the door but you never know...I'd hate to see you turned you away if the show sells out. To be sure you have a seat you can purchase your tickets online. You can have your tickets mailed to you or opt for the will-call list.

Check their online schedule for other events happening in the area or book the band for your upcoming birthday party or event.

There's less than one week until this year's Parenting Party and already I'm getting questions about where next year's event will take place.

I hadn't really thought about it until the idea was thrown out there...take the Official Poll found on the sidebar...Las Vegas, Miami, Portland?
